The SFMA is a movement-based diagnostic system which helps to determine why someone has abnormal movement patterns or is having pain with movement. This system finds the cause of the pain – not just the source – by logically breaking down dysfunctional and/or painful movement patterns in a structured, repeatable assessment.
The SMFA takes each client through 10 specific movement patterns to identify joint mobility and stability/motor control issues in the body. By using specific criteria, Rachel is able to identify which movement patterns are dysfunctional and painful.
Rachel works with each client to improve identified muscle imbalances by using a combination of manual therapy techniques, trigger point release, stretching, accessory joint play, and neurological re-programming through specific corrective exercises to improve the dysfunctional and painful movement patterns.
Through this treatment protocol, Rachel is then able to design specific and individualized rehabilitative and strengthening programs to meet each client’s needs in order to achieve optimal physical performance and pain-free living.
